Another lard question
I know that I asked this question before. However, I noticed that many of your recipes include lard. They also include coconut oil. I am opposed to using lard because I do not use pork products. So, if coconut oil and lard is included in the recipe, what do I use instead of lard?
Any tallow is suitable to replace with lard. Palm oil is a comparable type of oil, and you are always pretty safe to use olive oil to replace any of these. Olive oil will require a longer curing time and you will need to run your oil amounts through the calculator.
