Soothing Hemp Oil & Oatmeal Milk Winter Lotion
This recipe is a great night cream or cold weather moisturizer. The heavy consistency is perfect to sooth chapped winter skin. Made with shea, hemp seed oil, and colloidal oatmeal, this product is both moisturizing and rejuvenating. This is a heavy crème lotion that is packaged nicely in a 4 oz. wide mouth jar. This recipe will make 4 jars. Adjust the measurements according to desired number of jars.
What you will need:
18 oz. aloe vera juice
2 oz. of shea butter
1 oz. of hemp seed oil
1 oz. e-wax
1 oz. steric acid
0.25 oz. Optiphen /or Germall Plus (preservative)
.25 oz. of Oatmeal, Milk & Honey fragrance oil
1 oz. colloidal oatmeal
1 tbsp. Honey
400 mg (0.4g) CBD isolate powder
Instructions:
First, place the aloe juice on low heat to simmer for a few minutes. The juice does not need to be sterilized since it is packaged as a food grade product, however the temperature helps with the bonding and emulsification. Melt the oils and waxes together and mix them together well. Gently pour the aloe juice into the melted oils and waxes. Blend this together with a stick blender. Give the E-wax plenty of time to emulsify the water based liquids with the oils. It will appear to blend quickly but allow the hand mixer to blend for 3 – 5 minutes to prevent separation after packaging.
Add the CBD isolate powder, fragrance oil, honey, and preservative. Mix well until all of the ingredients are completely incorporated. Add any small amount of colorant that may be desired.
Before the product completely cools, pour into 4 oz jars and allow cover. Allow this to set up. As the product cools it will become thicker. Label accordingly.
